Precondition for admission to the Program
- A person with a state certificate certifying full general education in Georgia or equivalent to it, has the right to study on the educational program, in accordance with the rules established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia on the basis of the results of the Unified National Examinations;
- The right to obtain a student status without the national exams for foreign citizens is based on the rules established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia;
- The right to study on the program can be obtained by the internal mobility of Ltd Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University's other faculty or other higher education institution bachelor program student on the basis of external mobility in compliance with the requirements of regulation of Georgian legislation and Ltd GTUNI's educational process.
Educational Program Objectives
The aim of the educational program corresponds to the mission of Ltd Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University and Law Faculty, goals, strategies, and is focused on the employment market, which is achievable and clearly formed. The main purpose of the Bachelor's Program is to form and develop a bachelor values based on universal ideals. Promote a competent, publicly responsible lawyer for a qualified, labour and educational market by offering higher education standards to meet the modern standards; create conditions for realizing their personal resources.
Therefore, the program aims:
- Provide a wide range of basic features of the national law system, theories of law, the essence of law and the basic principles about the Georgian law sources;
- Give an in-depth knowledge about public, private, criminal and international law;
- To develop the ability to make decisions on legal issues and its justification;
- Develop skills to work on legal documents (Compiling, updating, explanation, etc.);
- Ability to develop relevant conclusions based on legal analysis;
- To develop skill to search information in native and foreign languages, ability to use legal terminology using oral and written form and use of modern information and communication technologies creatively;
- Develop the skills of constantly updating the knowledge;
- To develop ethical norms and to exercise justice, human rights, social and democratic values.
Educational Program Study Outcome
The results of the Bachelor's Degree study Program of Ltd Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University are fully compatible with the program objectives and include basic knowledge, skills and competences provided by the program content. Describes the signs of law, Historical sources of Georgian law identify the basic rights and freedoms of human rights and list the principles of international law; Defines the public, private and criminal nature and principles;

Identify legal problems and seeking normative bases for their solution, Explanation and use; Legal expertise of normative acts and drawing of legal content documents (normative act, contract, complaint, suit, etc.).

Description of the Bachelor Program Modules
Within the framework of the educational program, learning is undertaken by the main requirements of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The learning process is based on the modular teaching principles and is aimed at enhancing the level of creative acquisition and self-education through the selection of training courses and individualization of the learning process within the specific educational program. The educational program consists of modules and implies the division of study courses in the following principle:
Basic Compulsory Study Course Module -includes compulsory four training courses (16 credits). The basic objective of Mastering Disciplines in Basic Compulsory Study Courses is to use modern IT technologies; acquiring the principles of thinking, speech and relationship culture, academic writing; Study of geo cultural situation surrounding the background of Georgian cultural and civilization world.
Foreign Language Module – It includes four basic courses (24 credits). Under the Bachelor's Program students will learn English and their knowledge correspond to B2 level (those students who have passed the exam in other foreign languages are able to learn English language for beginners - A1).
Specialty Compulsory Study Course Module - includes compulsory twenty-three courses (138 credits), which are intended to familiarize with the basic principles, theories and concepts of law in the field of law; Mastering systemic knowledge in the field; Working with sources, processing and classifying empirical material; Multilateral and objective analysis and generalization of facts and events; Forming general, basic knowledge in the field of law; Practical skills required for law professionals.
Specialty Optional modules:
Module of Law Basics and Methods includes 5 optional courses (20 credits), from which the student (regardless of which specialty module is chosen) should study at least one course (4 credits).
One of the modules from public law, criminal law and private law students are elected in the fifth semester of teaching. The purpose of studying elected module study courses is to acquire knowledge-enhancement around knowledge specialization thorough introduction of specific fields within its borders and forming and strengthening the skills required for the development of professional career. In addition, the student has the right to form individual profile by concentrating different subjects, e.g. in criminal law with elements of public law.
Public Law Module - includes 12 study courses (48 credits). Elective course modules of public law allow students to concentrate and enhance knowledge in public law, taking into consideration their own wishes and interests. The student must have collect 20 credits from elective courses module. The remaining credits can be collected by the student at the expense of other modules.
Criminal Law Module - includes 8 study courses (32 credits). Elective course modules of criminal law allow students to concentrate and enhance knowledge in criminal law, taking into consideration their own wishes and interests. The student must have collect 20 credits from elective courses module. The remaining credits can be collected by the student at the expense of other modules.
Private Law Module - includes 9 study courses (36 credits). Elective course modules of private law allow students to concentrate and enhance knowledge in private law, taking into consideration their own wishes and interests. The student must have collect 20 credits from elective courses module. The remaining credits can be collected by the student at the expense of other modules.
Practical Courses Module -the Bachelor's Degree Program envisages a component of the development of practical skills. Within the framework of the educational program the student passes the compulsory curriculum of program ethics (4 credits). In order to develop practical skills, the Bachelor's Degree Program envisages practical courses in public law, criminal law and private law as an optional component, which implies practical skills in the relevant disciplines and organizing a simulated court trial. From this component it is obligatory to accumulate 4 credits.
Professional practice. 8 credits are intended for professional practice, which aims to take theoretical knowledge into practice and to develop appropriate practical skills. Students will undergo practice in public and private organizations, which operate in Georgia, according to the requirements of the legislation. It may be implemented in the organizations with which the university has signed an agreement on mutual cooperation or officially confirms the willingness to undergo a practice for a specific bachelor student.
After the completion of the study, the student must present the Practice Report on the relevant department to its public defense.
Bachelor's Thesis. 6 credits are intended for the preparation and defense of bachelor's work. Together with the student the student at the beginning of the eighth semester, sets out the curriculum, develops relevant literature issues covered by the plan and at the end of the semester defense the bachelor's work.
Free Credits Module is intended for the purchase of free credits, which students choose from the academic program of the university, also, if desired - 16 credits from the existing courses in higher education institutions accredited in Georgia and abroad. Formation and compilation of free credits module can be changed by students own perspective
Qualification to be granted
After obtaining the number of credits established by the educational program, the graduate is conferred with the Qualification / Academic Degree: Bachelor of Law. The graduate will also get the bilingual supplement to the diploma; The Diploma Supplement follows the model developed by the European Commission, European council and UNESCO/ CEPES.
Occupation Sphere
After completion of the educational program and after receiving the Bachelor's Degree, Bachelor can be employed in both private and public institutions in the field of Law. Bachelor's professional activity objects are: Judicial System; The bodies of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia; Prosecutor's Office of Georgia; Internal organs; Investigative Authorities; Legal services of ministries and departments; Governance and self-governance bodies; Notary Chamber of Georgia; Election commissions, law bureaus, legal companies, non-governmental organizations.
Bachelor may participate in criminal, civil and administrative proceedings as a prosecutor, attorney, investigator, assistant to a judge (taking into account the requirements set by the Georgian legislation), secretary of the court session; be a notary, assistant notary (taking into account the requirements set by the Georgian legislation). The type of its activities is also a lawmaking activity; Legal aspects of organizing and managing decision making; Draw up legal content documents (normative act project, contract, complaint, suit, etc.); Human rights protection and strengthening; Provide qualified legal advice.
Bachelor's program graduate will have the opportunity to work in any position where the Bachelor's degree is required and it is not necessary to pass the state certification exams.
After completion of the Bachelor Program graduates will be able to continue their studies in the Law Master's programs.
