On the initiative of the Tbilisi Municipality Council Sport and Youth Affairs Commission, with the support of ATEA and Georgian Student Organizations, the two-day Youth Forum “Local Self-Government for Students”, organized by Batumi City Hall and LEPL Regional Youth Center, competed in Batumi.
The second day of the meeting continued with a working session where delegates and students discussed municipal student projects and best practices. At the end of the event, a joint resolution was elaborated, which will be supported and secured by the authorities as much as possible.
The recommendations imply the maximum involvement of students and youth in the activities of the municipalities and their support. The delegates also planned a central project which will be implemented in the following months in a campaign format.
The Youth Forum was established in Tbilisi on February 12, 2018, with the aim of strengthening inter-municipal cooperation, improving communication between youth and local authorities, and facilitating youth policy implementation.
In the two-day event participated young members of 64 municipal councils and the student self-government presidents.
Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University was represented by Zura Shanshiashvili the president of the student self-government.
