The representatives of Georgian International University GIU - Head of the Department of International Relations, Associate Professor Grigol Kalandadze and Head of the Research Support Center, Ms. Tamar Taralashvili - attended the extraordinary session of the Permanent Conference of Rectors of Georgian Higher Educational Institutions. The aforementioned session was dedicated to the presentation delivered by Professor Stephane Berghmans who is the representative of the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment Reform (COARA) of European University Association.
Professor Berghmans’s presentation, which he presentedon the event to the First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Mr. Aleksandre Tsuladze and the representatives of Georgian Higher Education Institutions, was dedicated to the following topic: “EUA Research & Innovation Agenda 2027, seizing the moment, driving the change”
Professor Berghmansspoke about the aforementioned 2027 agenda and paid attention to certain topics which are in line with the Erasmus+ CBHE project “RE-DIRECTION – Redefining Higher Education on a digital context, while promoting a common, inclusive and sustainable framework based on EU best practices and policy recommendations”. He remarked that the 3rd priority of the aforementioned agendais about championing a well-designed and sustainable research & innovation system, emphasizing the fact that the universities require the enhancement of sustianability and digital transition affairs.
