The first "University Book Festival" took place at Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on July 14, 2023.

At the event, academic personnel from state and private higher education institutions in Tbilisi and their publishing companies distributed scientific publications that had just been released.

Participating in the event were fifteen universities, including the International University of Georgia (formerly known as Guram Tavartkiladze University).

Professor and rector of GIU, Giorgi Matiashvili, was present during the event.

The "Grammar of the Georgian Language" by Mario Maggio, which was published 380 years ago, and the 315th anniversary of Vakhtang VI's founding of the printing house in Tbilisi were honored during the University Book Festival.

At the event, books were exhibited and for sale as well.
