On May 23-25, 2019 Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Institute of American Studies and Georgian Association of American Studies hosted 20th Annual International Conference of American Studies.

The conference was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of American astronauts Neil Armstrong’s and Bass Aldrin’s landing on the Moon.

GTUNI professors and students took part in the international conference.

Namely:

• Professors - Marine Vekua, Laura Kutubidze and Elza Lomidze (Marshall McLuhan Phenomenon); (American News in Niko Nikoladze "Obzor"); (Pulitzer Prize for Heroic Odyssey in the 21st Century).

• Students - Zurab Khvichia (US support for maintaining Georgian identity); Maia Okruashvili (GDRP-I and GDRP-T: new stage of military partnership between Georgia and Georgia) and Tamar Tochilashvili (Marie Colvin -American military journalism highest professional).
