Inmates were awarded certificates

16 December 2011

On December 16, 2011 the academic staff of Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University completed the first stage of the short specialized educational program in the penitentiary system.

Rector of Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University Professor Giorgi Matiashvili awarded certificates of completion of the Small Business, Informatics and English language courses to 40 inmates. Awarding ceremony was attended by Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia Khatuna Kalmaxelidze, The Head of the departments: Giorgi Khojevanishvili, Giorgi Nioradze, and Probation Expert from Norway Runey Pijeld.

The second stage of the program will start in February 2012.
