On October 26, 2012 in the conference hall the meeting between the Students of the faculty of Social Sciences of Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University and Mr. Giorgi Popkhadze, the correspondent of the Channel 9 and French Radio in the European Union was held.

Initially, the guest spoke about himself. He told that he was a doctor, resuscitation specialist. A bit later he took up the profession of journalism _ responsible and hard job. He remembered the reports made by him, especially those that describes his journalistic life, full of danger. His professional experience includes: radio ‘liberty’, ‘Associated Press’, radio ‘FRANSE’, German „KABEL 1”, “EVRONEWS”. He has shot 9 wars and etc.

The guest remembered the August of 2008; the reports made by him and answered almost every question put by his younger colleagues.

The disgusting prison facts raised special interests among students and most of the questions were connected with them. He explained to the students that he was involved in those events only as a journalist and did not participate in political battles.

Giorgi Popkhadze spoke about the role and responsibilities of the journalist. He stated that the journalist must be individual, neutral and objective. He should always convey the truth be it the newspaper article or TV material.

He advised future journalists to do their utmost during their studies to get as deep knowledge as possible, encyclopedic education and honestly serve their motherland and society. At the end of the meeting, the guest revealed his future plans, informing the audience that in the nearest future, the population of Georgia will be able to watch the material prepared by him on the mission, duties and goals of European Union and Euro structures.
