The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Batiashvili met with the rectors of the state and private higher education institutions and discussed of improvement of the educational programs accreditation processes.
As the Minister noted at the meeting, the accreditation process of universities' authorization and educational programs continues and universities already in accreditation or in accreditation process will receive the results within the established deadlines.
He said that the reform process will continue to cooperate closely with the European Higher Education Quality Assurance Agencies Association and all international organizations, in order to integrate into the European Higher Education Area as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport will consider the issue of giving reasonable time to meet authorization standards for higher educational institutions, involving Higher Education Experts, Rectors Council and international experts.
According to the Minister, the Ministry should be supportive to improve the quality of the universities in order to improve the shortcomings. Accordingly, the Ministry will evaluate their processes and help them in the future.
Professor Giorgi Matiashvili, Rector of Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University participated in this meeting.
