The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Mr. Giorgi Amilakhvari, introduced the implemented and ongoing projects of education, science and youth policy development to the MPs of the Parliament of Georgia.

According to Minister’s speech, distance learning will be allowed in the education system of Georgia - in particular, both partially and fully online learning. A list of learning areas, in which it will be possible to partially or fully use the e-learning component, will be determined. Furthermore, the recognition of education, received abroad in a distance form, will be allowed for the first time. It will also be possible to establish a completely online university after the development of quality assurance standards.

The aforementioned initiatives are in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ CBHE project RE-DIRECTION, especially with regard to digital transformation. Georgian International University GIU is the member of the aforementioned project consortium.
