The students meeting with the State Minister on the Diaspora Issues

On October 26, 2016 Guram Tavartkiladze Teaching University hosted Gela Dumbadze the State Minister on the Diaspora Issues.

The meeting was very interesting. The topic of the meeting was the return of Leuville Estate and the related plans for the future.

The minister spoke about the procedures of transferring Leuville Estate and reminded once again the audience that the Leuville estate was bought in 1922 by the exile government Noe Jordania, Noe Ramishvili, Eugeni Gegechkori Noe Khomeriki, Akaki Chkhenkeli, Constantine Kandelaki, Ekvtime Takaishvili and Samson Pirtskhalava with public funds. The purpose of that decision was the becoming of the estate of Georgian refugees’ shelter. Also there was considered the conditions of transferring this property to Georgia. In their “Moral Will” there was verified that Chateau Leuville should be returned to Georgia when it would become independent.

On September 23 2016 the State Minister on the Diaspora Issues Gela Dumbadze as well as the descendants of the first democratic government signed the transfer act to Georgia the 45 000 square meters of the historic estate 37 kilometers from Paris.

At the end the Minister answered students’ questions.
